Workshops
If you would like to request a free workshop for the teens your serve (and are already a distributor of VOX newspaper):
VOX provides three general workshops into the community:
1. Putting a Public Face on a Personal Experience - Teens will explore the ways they can take their life experiences and use them as a catalyst to write about societal issues.
2. Journalism Techniques - An introduction to writing for a newspaper. May include interviewing techniques, writing for an audience and a description of the process of taking an article from conception to completion.
3. Creative Writing Techniques - Offers an opportunity for teens to develop their descriptive writing skills while writing about what they know best: their communities, their schools and themselves.
We will happily work with you and your group to provide a specific focus (e.g., a creative writing workshop about grieving or a journalism workshop on reporting the news of your school). Just let us know on your workshop request form in the "goals" section if you have specific requests. Thanks!
